I'm Glad You Asked

God says, "You do not have, because you do not ask God."  James 4:2
On Thursday night April 1st, we are intentionally going to set up our last Man Church of the Spring to clearly present the good news of Jesus Christ to men and give them an opportunity to put their faith in Him as their Savior and Lord.
The salvation of a human soul is a miraculous work of God.  Amazingly, He invites us to be a part of that miracle.  Our roles in the miracle are:
  • Praying for the lost to be saved
  • Modeling (living out the life of Christ) for our friends who don't know Him yet
  • Loving, serving, and witnessing to our friends (telling them the simple message of salvation)

Now, a way to carry out the "witnessing" component is to invite them to an event like the one we will have on April 1st where the gospel will be clearly communicated.  I trust many of you right now are inviting friends to join us that night, however, I want to emphasize today the critical role prayer plays.

I believe God will do the saving work only He can as we commit ourselves to asking Him to do it.  To that end, I would like to see us establish an unbroken chain of men coming before His throne in fasting (if you can) and prayer between now and April 1st.  Over these first twelve days of March, we have had 9 men cover one day each in dedicated prayer for our April 1st Man Church.  For the remaining 19 days between now and April 1, we only have 5 men signed on to the task.  The days which are already covered are (15th, 16th, 22nd, 23rd, and 31st).  Would you sign on to take a day to fast and pray?  You can take a day one of two ways:

1.  submit a comment to this entry stating which day you'll take, or
2.  call or e-mail Janice and tell her which day you will take 770-794-2972, janice.morris@jfbc.org

God says, "You do not have, because you do not ask God."  James 4:2  When we wake up Friday morning, April 2nd, and we praise God for whatever eternal fruit He has borne through us, whatever amount of fruit that ends up being, lets make sure we can at least say with a clean conscience that we know we were faithful to ask.
