To Decide
My earliest childhood memory is from forty years ago today. I was three years old. We lived in a duplex on post at The United States Military Academy at West Point. In the upstairs t.v. room, with my mom and dad and a few other people I watched us land on the moon and Neil Armstrong walk on the moon.
Last weekend we rented the movie "Apollo 13". Commander James Lovell, played by Tom Hanks, says, while reflecting on Apollo 11's success, "We went to the moon, because one day we decided to go."
The power of the human will is immense. The power of the human will surrendered fully to the will and power of Almighty God is unfathomably beyond immense.
Are there a few of us willing to take our wills and steadfastly surrender them to His will? If we could find even just a few of us (remember Gideon's force reduction process), who would wholeheartedly determine to know, obey and trust Him, we could turn this world around for His glory.
2900 years ago, some men gathered at Jerusalem and made a decision; a decision which radically impacted their country in their day. You can read about it below. On the 40th anniversary of "one giant leap", I'm wondering if we'll ever see enough Jesus Following Men decide to take the leap into full devotion to Him? When that day comes, we'll be amazed at the results we see.
2 Chronicles 15:12-15 "They entered into a covenant to seek the LORD, the God of their fathers, with all their heart and soul. . . . They took an oath to the LORD with loud acclamation, with shouting and with trumpets and horns. All Judah rejoiced about the oath because they had sworn it wholeheartedly. They sought God eagerly, and he was found by them. So the LORD gave them rest on every side."

Great thoughts, keep them coming!
